New Board term starts in January
The existing board of eastAUSmilk concludes its term on 31 December 2025 and the new recently elected board starts its term on 1 January 2026. Tim Bail and Ruth Kydd from NSW and Paul Newland, Waylon Barron and I continue as directors.
However, Brian Cox from Beaudesert in Queensland finishes his term and Dan Latham from Comboyne in NSW commences in January. I would like to thank Brian for his short term on the board, and I sincerely hope that he will one day join the board again. And to Dan, welcome aboard.
The board will meet in the Gympie/sunshine area of Queensland in February 2026. This will be a great opportunity for the board and staff to visit local farms and host several dinners for our members. Also, we will meet to review our existing strategic plan and develop a new one for the 3 years of the new board.
If any members have issues that you believe should be addressed by eastAUSmilk, please let your local district councillors, board members or staff know so we can consider these in February. We cannot do everything and it is important for us to focus our time on achieving real outcomes on issues of most relevance to our members.
Over the past year we have helped our members in many ways. We have helped farmers respond to natural disasters which unfortunately is commonplace these days. We have helped many members by assessing their options for milk supply contracts.
Also, the Queensland government has funded several projects which have allowed us to help farmers prepare for future weather events. In addition, the projects have helped farmers adopt new technology and visit Finley in NSW to learn from some large scale and very impressive farms in that region.
Thank you to all our members for your support over the past year. Without you, our organisation would not exist.
Joe Bradley - President, eastAUSmilk
