The Hon. Tony Perrett MP, Minister for Primary Industries spoke to the importance of growing fresh milk production in Queensland and the role of research, development and extension in enabling this growth.

The Queensland Dairy Plan has been developed through direct engagement with Queensland dairy farmers who contributed over 100 suggestions, which ultimately inspired five key actions for the industry over the next six years:

🔹 Improved support for industry entry and exit, 🔹 Climate and natural disaster program for dairying,

🔹 Identify expanded feed options,

🔹 On-farm uptake of new automation and technology, and

🔹 Improving the productivity, and management, of pastures.

QFF congratulates eastAUSmilk, their members and the other key industry groups who developed the plan including, the Department of Primary Industries (Queensland), Bega Group, Norco Co-operative Limited, Lactalis Australia Pty Ltd, the Dairy Farmers Milk Cooperative Limited (DFMC), and Sub-Tropical Dairy.
