New Director for Northern NSW

Due to growing membership in New South Wales, there are now three districts in both Queensland and NSW.

As a result, a new Director for Northern NSW - Dan Latham, a local of Comboyne has been appointed.

Dan has spent almost five years milking around 400 cows on the Comboyne plateau with his partner Vanessa and their son Jackson. Before this, he worked for 20 years on Vanessa’s parents’ farm, owned by Peter and Joy Hurrell. The dairy was recently upgraded and expanded to a 30-a-side system, which has halved their milking time.

In his free time, Dan is active in the Comboyne community, contributing to events like the Comboyne Show and camp draft, supplying cattle, helping with grounds maintenance, and supporting various other activities.

Dan hopes to see the industry achieve stable and fair milk prices that are sustainable for farms along the eastern seaboard. He believes consistent and reasonable pricing will help stabilise the industry and encourage new farmers to enter, reversing the current decline in farm numbers.
