EastAUSmilk Dinners, Forum and AGM 2025 in Gatton, Qld

Dinners have been organised and all members of eastAUSmilk are invited and welcome to attend both dinners:

 

On Wednesday 27 August at the Beaudesert Hotel, Beaudesert, Qld and Thursday 28 August at the Porters Plainland Hotel, Plainland, Qld for 6.30pm start.

 

The Forum will be held on Friday 29 August 2025 commencing at 9.30am at WP Hamon Memorial Centre, University of Qld, 5391 Warrego Highway, Gatton Qld.

                                        

The event begins with a meet and greet, morning tea and a welcome from eastAUSmilk President, Joe Bradley.

                    

Speakers include Ashley Bacon, Deputy Director-General of Agriculture, DPI, Queensland will speak on Prosper 2050, Investment to support the dairy industry – research, biosecurity and resilience, and skills and training.

 

Mark Bauer, B. App Sc (Rural Tech), Principal Extension Officer, DPI Queensland and Dr Dannylo Sousa, Senior Principal Scientist, Animal/Agri Science, DPI Queensland who is a vet and Animal Science graduate, specialising in nutrition. They will present updates on the C4Milk project work and related research. Also, touching on dairy beef and the genetics work currently being undertaken.

 

Following the speaker sessions, there will be a tour of the UQ Dairy, a commercial facility supporting research and teaching. Lunch will be provided, and the day concludes with the AGM.
